UDI'S MILLET-CHIA GLUTEN FREE BREAD ANCIENT GRAIN BREAD

07/23/2011

I just tried the Udi's Millet-ChiaGluten Free Bread.
I love love this gluten free bread
It tastes like a real grain bread should taste
It not only taste really good but it is full of fiber so it is nutritionally a sound product. If you are a type 1 Diabetic it helps you out with your insulin requirements because of the fiber in it.  Fiber in your diet helps balance out carbohydrates so it minimizes the spikes of blood sugars that occur.when eating them.
It has 5 grams of protein in it, 6 grams of dietary fiber so it is not just a gluten free bread that taste good but a gluten free bread that is in my opinion one that has a lot of nutritional vales in it
I am very impressed with this bread,  I know I am going to be looking for  this bread in my local grocery store.
I just called the North Wales Store in Pennsylvania and they carry this product
I am told that it is in most Whole Food Stores right now carry this product so in my opinion we all should be going to our local Whole Foods Market and get this bread and taste how fantastic this bread is inside and out.
You will not be sorry this bread will make you think that you are no longer deprived from real bread .
You have found the chosen one in gluten free breads.
I almost forgot this bread also is loaded in Omega 3's
It has 375 grams of Omega 3/6/9 in it
Great Nutritional Value Great Taste a must have in the gluten free cabinet for optimal health

Check to see  if other grocery stores have this product , call your local grocery store ask what department will have gluten free breads.  Ask to be sent to that department , when a department head answers tell them you want this product in your local store if it is not there already.
They  will ask for the name of the bread Udi's Millet-Chia Gluten Free Bread
they will ask for the UPC number and I will give that to you the number is 6 9899780994  4

KELLOGG'S GLUTEN FREE RICE KRISPIES

07/10/2011

The Gluten free Rice Krispies are in select stores in Pennsylvania
They are in a primarily in a yellow and blue box and they are labeled Gluten Free on them
I am told right now they are in the Shop Rite Stores and Super Fresh Stores
I called the East Norriton Store on Germantown Pike they said that they do have it in stock and it is in either in  aisle 3 or 4  and it is priced at 3.99 a box.

I called the corporate office of Giant Food Stores and they said that they will start getting the Gluten Free Rice Krispies  around the 20th of July and it will be in stores  throughout Giant by the middle of August

I called Whole Food Stores in Plymouth Meeting and they do not have it as of yet.

The Gluten Free Kellogg's Rice Krispies will be made out of brown Rice instead of the Malt in the regular Rice Krispies.

I am going to get a box today so I will let you know what I think of them
I just opened my box of the gluten free Rice Krispies and they are really very good.
It is nice to see and hear that they do the same as the regular box of rice Krispies they do pop as you pour the milk onto them and they taste I think even better then the regular version of the Rice  Krispies
The ingredients for Kellogg's Rice Krispies is Whole Grain Brown Rice sugar, 2% or less of salt , BHT for freshness that is it .

Thank You

GRANDMA AND ME SOAPS ALL NATURAL

06/17/2011

I just came across a soap company that is located in Florida.
Their website is www.grandmaandmesoaps.com and their email address is grandmaandmesoaps@yahoo.com
This is another company that I like a lot if you have sensitive skin.
She has unscented soaps and lotions that are all natural no chemicals
She does take suggestions if you would like a different type of product for instance I asked her last night if she would be coming out with a natural sunscreen and she said I did not think of doing that but it is a great idea and I will look into it.
Her grandma taught her how to make these soaps and she now has the business and I think the products are really good they moisturize well and do not leave any type of residue on your skin.
I have a lot of problems with shampoos after the first day of using a product my scalp feels like it is on fire and is extremely itchy I have not found too many products that can help me out with this problem.
When I used her product I felt relief it was a nice change to know that I could have a shampoo that there was no irritation to my scalp
I also bought a face cream and that was also fantastic she let me know that it would store better in the refrigerator .  I  like doing this especially with the hot summer months approaching it feels great on your skin when you put the cold cream on your face and body
Take a look at this company the owner's name is Loyce and see how fabulous these products are you will not be sorry .
They do have some scented products too if you  rather have it in a scent and one thing I really like is that she sells wash cloths that are hand crocheted  so if you are looking for a nice gift for someone that has sensitive needs this is the perfect website to go to or if you are looking for a gift for someone that does not have sensitive needs you can get something nice for yourself or just for a good close friend
These products are of a high caliber of natural ingredients , your skin will purr when you put these natural products on your skin.  You will see that your skin will instantly come  alive and feel soft supple and well nourished.  Your friends will be envious in the change in your skin and probably will comment on how great you look.  You will just be happy that you can put a product on and not have any reactions to it.  at least this is what these products did for me I hope they do the same for you.
These products are also great because any pocketbook can use them like I said before they have a high caliber of ingredients but the price for these products are for any ones budget, they are budget friendly which is hard to find in this economy..  My suggestion for you is to go to the website www.grandmaandmesoaps.com and see how these products help your pocketbook and your skin..

NATURAL SKIN CARE

06/02/2011

If you would like to make  your own natural skin care products that work and will not cause irritations to your skin here are some examples.  .  I just came across these products that are every day items that you have in your kitchen cabinets

Baking Soda

Shampoo  Mix one 16 oz. container with 2 tablespoons baking soda the rest fill up with warm water and stir until all baking soda is dissolved .  Wet your hair pour mixture over your head and massage into scalp and hair
Rinse well
Follow with an Apple Cider Rinse.  I use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar .
One 16 oz container 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar the rest fill up with cool water and pour over head.  Massage scalp and hair then rinse with cool water

Soothing Bath  Pour 1 cup Baking Soda into running bath in warm water and soak it  helps the skin and it also helps if you have allergies of the skin to stop itching

Shower Wash  Same as Shampoo recipe 2 tablespoons Baking Soda in a 16 oz container with warm water .  Mix until well dissolved  Get into the shower dip the wash cloth into the container and wash your body ,rinse afterwards.

Deodorant    Mix 2 Tablespoons Baking Soda plus 1 Table spoon Cornstarch mix  together and use about a teaspoon  to a table spoon  under each arm pit

Moisturizer:

Facial Moisturizer  smash a ripe banana mix with a teaspoon of olive oil and pat on face
leave on face for a few minutes then rinse with warm water.  This also helps with controlling
                facial wrinkles

Rough Heels:  Use the inside part of a banana peel and rub on the rough cracked heel and massage into skin

They say you can use the banana peel for poison ivy, chicken pocks they say that it will relieve the itch right
away..  If you have an itchy spot each time you want to reapply  the banana peel wipe down the area before you reapply the peel

Pure Apple Cider Vinegar for insect bites and bee stings just pour a little on a cotton ball or paer towel and put onto effected spot

Easy Natural Air Freshner   in a pretty martini glass fill with baking soda  Rose petals & a teaspoon or two of cinnamon  it smells heavenly

MY DADS COOKIES

05/22/2011

I just found some outrageously good gluten free cookies.  They are located in New York City.  These cookies are sinfully good.  The kind of cookie that you thought you would never be able to have again.
They have about 10 different cookies to choose from so I am sure one will fit your fancy .  I have not tried them all but so far my favorite is the Chocolano which in my opinion taste and looks like a Pepperidge Farm Malano Cookie Delicate  Vanilla  Cookie sandwiched  in with sweet decadent milk chocolate filling ( Yum ) This is guaranteed to bring back fond memories with family and friends .

These products will be on an end cap in the Gluten Free  Organics aisle in The Giant Food Stores

They also have gluten free cakes and brownies, The cakes can be only purchased at the bakery or one of their distributors  that sells their products

They have these cookies right now in Pennslyvania at the Giant Food Store in Plymouthmeeting Pa  19462 at the Metroplex Shooping Center Ridge & Chemical Rds Check to see if the other Giant Food Stores in your area have gotten these outrageously good gluten free cookies.  You will not be disatisfied they are in my opinion not just good for a gluten free cookie but outrageously good for any type of cookie.  My husband will not touch anything gluten free I ask him all the time to try something that looks good but he won't.  He works at Giant and they were having the store members try these cookies  and he had one and called me and said oh my god we just got in these gluten free cookies and they are worth their weight in gold.  they are so good. .  They sell for 5.99 a small container I think they have about 12 cookies in them but in my opinion they are worth it.  I kow I am coming back for more.  These will be great for when we are invited to parties.  I can show up with these cookies and not feel deprived.  I am a happy camper
There are other Giant food Stores that carry these cookies so hopefully one of the locations will be close to you.

TYPE 1 DIABETES ANIMUS INSULIN PUMPS GLUTEN FREE FOODS

05/09/2011

This post is for members that have both diseases Type 1 Diabetes & Celiac Disease.  I am one of those  patients that has both conditions.
I have always put into my insulin pump my different carb counts for different types of food I am eating to get the correct amount of insulin I should have for a particular meal that I am eating.  One day I was talking to one of the Nurses from Animas corporation.  She asked me if I used the software that was in my insulin pump in the Food Data Base.  Frankly I had forgot that it was in my pump because I just asumed tha tthere would be no gluten freee foods.  I mentioned  this to her she said that is a good point she told me to go through the Food Data Base to see if we did have a gluten free Foods.  I did and they do not have any gluten free foods in there Food Data Base.  I found out that they use the Calorie King for their software I notified them and they said we do have gluten free foods .  I went online and sure enough they do.  I called back Animas Insulin Pumps and explained to them that they need to update their software for Paatients that have Celiac Disease so that they can incorporate  the Gluten free foods in there Food Lists they said that is a fantastic idea.  .  I gave to them the information to them as to who they can contact to have this done.  I also explained to them that if you have Type 1 Diabetes you have a higher chance of developing Celiac Disease since it is the same gene for both conditions.  they said that  they will work to have this done.  Then I called the Animas Software department and went through everything about them getting the Food List to have gluten free items.  The person I spoke with John was very helpful he said until we do get the gluten free items you can put the gluten free foods in your Insulin Pump manually and save them in your pump.   I have the Animus 2020 Insulin Pump.  He explianed to me all I had to do was down load the software the EZ Manager software that came with my pump the yellow and blue disk.  He told me to set up an account then go to the Food Data Base option go under Custom Favorites which is on the far right hand side.  push that option then start listing the items that I would like in my pump that are gluten free.  You have to have on hand the products so you know how many carbs are in that product and fiber and of course the name of the product.  when you are finished with the list you hit save then set up a file name  and hit that then hit save again.  You then get the cable that is with your software  and you disconnect your pump from your body.  You put the pump into suspend then you attach the pump to the cable and download the information that you have on the screen to the pump when you are finished you have the information stored into your pump then you just push the resume pump button on your pump and of course do not forget to reconnect your pump you can add things as you come across foods that you use alot.  Animas Pumps are the only ones with a Food Data Base and soon they will have gluten free items in  their Food Data base..  You can contact the software department at Animas to go through the steps by calling 1877 Yes  Pump and pushing option 5 and they will explain to you how you can put gluten free food items in your pump to be stored.  I can not tell you how much easier this is now I just go to the Bolus screen push EZ Carb then hit Ok then go to Food List hit ok then go to favorites and I have all my gluten free items right there waiting for me to choose what I need and incorporate that information and how much insulin to give for that particular food. item .  I hope this helps you it is a grat help for me
If you would like to have an Animus Pump their  telephone number is 1877 936 Pump I think this company is really fantastic they seem to really listen to a patients wants and needs. and they listen to any new ideas that you  might want to have in their pumps.

Thank You
