I thought I had posted a post about these marvelous cereals, but I just checked my records and I have not
These cereals are amazing and the concept for these cereals is amazing too.
It is perfect for kids and adults with Celiac disease or for people with allergies.

When you go onto the website there is a three step process to form your very own cereal concoction that at the end you name which is great for when you have children with celiac disease they get to name the cereal that they have made
First you have a choice of what type of base you would like to have such as a couple different types of flakes or granola
Then you pick out what type of dried fruits you would like in the cereal and if you would prefer it to be organic
When you make your choice to have it organic or not there really is not much difference in price if you want it to be organic
Then you pick out what nuts or seeds you would like
There are many different choices to choose from for the fruits nuts and seeds and you can put together any combination yu would like
At the end you get to name your very own blend of cereal and also on the package after you have made up your choices it has all the nutritional values that are in your cereal
I can not give you a cost for this since it is going to be what you come up .
I love love this company everything is all natural and it is so nice to be able to form a blend that you would like to eat for a snack or for a meal
It is also nice to be in control on what you are eating instead of having it that the disease has the control I can imagine when you are a child and you get this disease suddenly all their control on what they want to eat is taken away saying sorry you can not eat that and seeing other kids eating it. I know when I was little I became a type 1 Diabetic and I had to do a total change in what I was eating and how to control my Diabetes. It was very difficult my brothers and sisters were eating everything I used to eat and I could not I had no control with what I was eating. The children do have control they get to pick out what they would like and best of all if they are a Celiac and a type 1 Diabetic this is good for both conditions
I wish there was something like this for when I was little I think it would have made it a little bit easier on me and my paarents.
This approach kind of makes you feel special since it is something that you or your child made up and there is so much to choose from you will never get tired of it
Since you are dealing with Flakes Granola Nuts Fruit Seeds you are getting a bountiful of fiber which is great for us Celiacs and for that matter type 1 Diabetics
The owner of this company is amazing that he thought up of this philosophy.
He is not a Celiac but he had Celiac friends that had told him that there was not much out there that tasted good and that it was good for them

GLUTEN FREE SANDWICH PETALS

I rediscovered my favorite gluten free flat bread sandwich wrap
These are really fantastic and do not need refrigeration. they can be stored up to a month but I know once you have tried these sandwich wraps they will not be sitting on the counter they will be gone in no time at all.
Your friends and family that do not have Celiac disease will be jealous of you they are that good
I bet if you did an experiment and put these out for your friends or family they would be gone in a second but I would not recommend doing this because you will want them for your self
They are not just good tasting but they are good for you too.
They have 10 Ancient grains in each tortilla
They have prebiotics to aid in digestive health
They have heart healthy Omega 3's in each tortilla
They are also loaded with fiber with all this in them they taste magnificent .
They are also allergen free

My ultimate favorite Spinach Garlic Pesto

These tortillas are also very good if you are also a type 1 diabetic with all the fiber they have in them

EASY GLUTEN FREE PEANUT BUTTER /CHOCOLATE COOKIES

I love these cookies I saw these cookies online but I changed them a little bit for what I like in a peanut butter cookie, to me you can not have just peanut butter without chocolate
This recipe is super easy and great for when someone comes over unexpectedly and you want something quick and good for a desert.
the recipe is as follows you can double this recipe if you know you are having more people over
1 cup gluten free peanut butter I use Skippy Peanut Butter
1 cup Sugar
1 egg
1 package plain Hershey's Chocolate Kisses
Mix together the peanut butter the egg and the sugar drop by 1 table spoon per cookie onto greased cookie sheet
Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes take out cookies and place 1 Hershey Kiss on each cookie
It will melt into the cookie and it is delicious, it taste like a Reeses candy bar yum
One of my friends suggested occasionally to put a recipe in so I decided to do this one, it is quick easy and really very good

DEXCOM CONTINUOUS BLOOD GLUCOSE METER

I am writing this blog for members that are Type 1 Diabetics
I don't know if you have ever heard of The Dexcom Continuous Glucose Meter but it is outstanding
It is a meter that reads your blood sugars continuously for a week then you have to put in another transmitter on.
This systems helps you out so much what you do is when you get the system you set it up putting in the date and time
Then you charge what I call the control pad initial charging can take up to three hours then you get your transmitter this goes into your stomach.
This device goes in by a inch long needle once it is in your stomach you take out the needle and a Teflon needle stays in for about a week This sounds painful but it is not it just feels like a slight pick that is it at least this is the way I describe it and when it goes in it goes in by an applicator..
Then you put your sensor in and snap it in place, then you get your control panel and push the button that says start sensor this will take about close to three hours to be able to start recording blood sugars
Your Dexcom will beep at you and it will want two blood sugars from your regular meter. You put these in one at a time. It will then start measuring your blood sugars but you do have to put in your control panel what your doctor wants as your high level for instance my doctor wants mine at 200 so if my blood sugars goes over 200 the control panel will beep at me and say check blood sugar with your regular meter to make sure you are truly high. the Dexcom system is very reliable but there is always a chance that it might give you a false high or low blood sugar so if you have an alarm go off for high or low you must test on a regular blood glucose machine to make sure of your results . I have never had it that my device has given me a false reading.
After you have done all this your Dexcom system will read your blood sugars continuously.
In the morning and in the evening you will have to put in a blood sugar to calibrate your Dexcom system.with your regular blood glucose machine .
I love the Dexcom system I can not tell you how much it has helped me. I used to have to test 15 times a day because I had hypoglycemic unawareness and also when my blood sugars were high I did not know it
A couple of times my blood sugars were over 500 and i did not know it I had no symptoms at all . I also had blood sugars that were almost in the passing out stage they were in the 20's still I had no symptoms to tell me I was in trouble..
My A1C's were good they were in the 600's but my doctor was afraid that if someone was not at home to help me out with a low blood sugar I could have serious health issues so he decided that I should be on this device.
Some health insurances are hard to get this approved mine was one of them but I would not take no for an answer.
I wrote letters stating why I needed it and called them every day until it was approved and I really feel that this device has saved my life
Once I got it approved I called my doctor's office to thank him in getting this approved he stated you know it was not me it was you they said no to me it was your perseverance in getting it approved that did it
I also like this company because once you decide to try out this system you call them and say I want to try this out. In most cases they will go to your doctor's office and have you try it out for a week to see if this is for you. When I tried it out I almost cried when I had to give back my loaner. I said to the nurse can't I keep this one until mine is approved and she laughed and said no

I also want to let you know that this system will give you blood sugars for about a week then you have to take off the transmitter and put a new one on. You take out the sensor and put it into the new transmitter and start all over again
You do have to charge it probably about twice a week and you have to have the control panel no more then 5 feet away from you or else it iwll beep at you and say that you are out of range for blood sugars
Animus Insulin Pumps are working hand in with Dexcom to have it that they will work together as one
This is already done in Europe but believe me even though they do not work as one it is not difficult at all.to handle both devices
Just to let you know that the control panel is not very big it is probably about 3 and half inches long it is oval shaped . I put mine in my pocket and no one knows it is there unless it beeps
I think you will like this system what have you got to lose you might just like me feel better and have better A1C's for your blood sugar control

DADDY JAX SOAP COMPANY

As you can see with my blog I have tried out a number of soaps for my dry skin needs and they were all very good but I just found the king of the Mother load or I should say Father load of Soaps.
I came across a soap company called Daddy Jax Soaps I always look into how they got started and with this company it was because of their son.
They were trying to help him out with his skin needs and decided to try to make a soap that he could use that would not bother his skin and this is how this company came about.
I decided to give them a try and see if this would work for me.
I decided to try the Shea Bar ( Unscented), the Cinnamon Almond and the Honey Bee.
When the package came I decided to be daring and try the Cinnamon Almond first.
I thought this would be a true test since I became a Celiac I usually I can not wear any type of scent in soaps or my skin goes into over drive and I get a fierce reaction and I knew this could happen but I through caution to the wind and thought I would try it.
The scent was marvelous and I became very excited but still skeptical thinking that I will probably still break out or just have very dry skin well quite the opposite happened.
My skin almost came out of hibernation it became alive again.
My skin felt like it just came out of an expensive spa filled with moisturizers and kind of a zen effect
My hands were so soft and supple and they had a glow about them
I really became daring and tried it on my face, usually when I try any of these types of soaps on my face it feels like my face is just cracking in the desert and most of the soaps that I have tried before this were good and moisturized my face but this was way different
The skin on my face looked and felt new it felt like as they say a newborns skin .
My face had a radiance to it my face felt pampered and not just moisturized but nourished from the inside out.
These soaps are more then just natural soaps they are tiny spas in the palm of your hand cleaning and nourishing your skin to sheer blissfulness of well moisturized skin
They are an exceptional treat to your skin
Your skin will go into overdrive but not like I said before in dryness but in sheer delight

I just came across a soap company that gives out free samples of their all natural soaps.

I just received my sample of their Dry Skin Formula and it really did help out my skin
I don't know know if it becuase of the summer heat or just that my skin is in over dry right now. it is dry itchy and does not look the greatest right now. When I saw this product I decided to try it since they do give out a free sample what do I have to lose and if I can better skin why not try it
Well it did a great job on my first try. So far no itch and my skin feels and looks more normal.

ANIMAS ONE TOUCH PING INSULIN PUMP

Hi , I am a type 1 Diabetic my current insulin pump that I was using which is the Animas 2020 was out of warranty. I went through the procedures to get a new insulin pump for my Diabetes control.
Generally insurance companies will not replace an insulin pump that is out of warranty until there is a problem with the pump that you are using.
My pump did have a major problem with it so I was able to get another pump
I chose the Animas One touch Ping, I love love this insulin pump
They have with the pump a One Touch Ultra blood glucose machine. they are two separate machines but the coolest part is that they wirelessly go together.
When you get your One Touch Ping Insulin Pump and One Touch Ultra Meter you program them so they work together as one.
You test your blood sugar with the One Touch Ultra Meter this simultaneously goes to your insulin pump then it will direct you to if you want to do a EZ Carb which means that if you are planning to eat something you would put into the meter how many carbs you will be taking for that particular meal or you can go to your EZ BG which means that you put in the blood sugar that you just did with your blood sugar to determine if you need more insulin to have ideal blood sugars.
For instance if I am having breakfast and my blood sugar is 128 and I am having 50 grams of carb for breakfast the meter will program me as to how much insulin I should be taking to have my blood sugars stay in good control. I decide if that amount is good for my settings and say yes give that much insulin.
The amount of insulin that was programed into the One Touch Blood Glucose meter is then programed to go to the One Touch Ping Insulin pump and gives out that much insulin.
This is almost fun to do all that I have to do to have good control with my Type 1 Diabetes

I also like the Animus Company for insulin pumps because they are the only company that I know of that has in their pumps a food data base. At the present time the Animus Insulin Pumps does not have gluten free products but they are working on this to be a part of their pump therapies.
You can still program your insulin pump with gluten free items so that you have your own Gluten Free Data base in your insulin pump.
All you do is call the Animas Insulin Pump Company , the number is 1877 937 7867 which spells out 1877 Yes Pump you would then push option 5 and let them know that you have to program your Animus Insulin Pump with gluten free items . They will direct you how to do this and how to down load the information that you put in on your computer to your insulin pump . Once you have down loaded all your information with your gluten free items that you eat then everything will be there in your pump in your Food Data Base for you to have anywhere you go.
I am so impressed with Animus Pump Corporation, if you are a type 1 Diabetic and a Celiac patient and take insulin for your control this is the insulin pump for you , to me it is more or less designed for a Type 1 Diabetic that has Celiac Disease. I have not seen another insulin pump company that . has a food data base in their pumps and that if you have a particular allergy to food that you can program foods in that food data base to become your own food data base system for your own needs It takes a little bit more work to put the gluten free items into the system but it is well worth it to have everything you need in one system

Hi , I am a type 1 Diabetic my current insulin pump that I was using which is the Animas 2020 was out of warranty. I went through the procedures to get a new insulin pump for my Diabetes control.
Generally insurance companies will not replace an insulin pump that is out of warranty until there is a problem with the pump that you are using.
My pump did have a major problem with it so I was able to get another pump
I chose the Animas One touch Ping, I love love this insulin pump
They have with the pump a One Touch Ultra blood glucose machine. they are two separate machines but the coolest part is that they wirelessly go together.
When you get your One Touch Ping Insulin Pump and One Touch Ultra Meter you program them so they work together as one.
