I heard from a friend of mine to try Rudis Gluten free Bread.
I like Udies Gluten free Bread but I wanted something a little bit different, but in the stores there was nothing there for me to try, nothing jumped at me.
I went on line to look for the website for Rudis Gluten Free Bread.
I found it the website is http://www.rudisglutenfreebakery.com/, I pressed the link to find out where I could buy it and it said that Genuardis , Giant and Whole Foods carried it. I called them and all of them said that they do not carry it, I called the company and asked where I could buy it and I emailed the person that they told me to get in contact with which is Maggie Meeks. Maggie is a fantastic cutomer Service agent she said to me that she would look into this and find out why their products are not in the stores by now but in the mean time she would send out to me a loaf of their bread. she asked me if I wanted the Multi Grain , Original or the Cinnamon raisin Bread. I chose the Multigrain Bread. she shipped it to me overnight and I was excited to try it out. Her email address is mmeek@rudisbakery.com she might if you ask nicely let you try a loaf also to help spread the word on how great their bread really is.
I tried out the bread and let me tell you it was spactacular it was more then I expected it to be. It was what I felt was missing and what I wanted to have in a bread. It was almost the size of a normal piece of bread, it tasted to me like a really good honey nut wheat bread but without the wheat. I looked at the ingredients and they are really good. The Rudis Multi Grain Bread has in it potato extract rice starch rice flour sorghum flour high oleic sunflower/safflower oil organic evaporated cane juice organic honey egg whites organic inulin yeast sea salt xanthan gum organic cornmeal organic sunflower seeds organic sunflower seeds organic millet organic flaxseed organic molasses
I was impressed with the ingredients and the taste brings me back to when I was not a Celiac it taste like I said before like a really good high quality bread and the texture to it is magnificient . I made some onion soup over the weekend and I thought I might as well try using the bread like a french onion soup.
I did it it a bit differently but the taste was suburb. I placed a slice of the Rudis Multigrain Bread tosted at the bottom of a bowl I placed on top of that two slices of provolone cheese and I poured the onion soup I made over the toasted bread and cheese. It was amazing the toast and cheese went to the top similar to what you would see in a French Onion Soup. I thought the bread woud becaome overly soggy but it did not the crust to the bread stayed crunchy and delicious. I was quite amazed of how great this bread was. I received my bread on Friday by yesterday I was almost out of it. I was getting anxious that I would not be able to get another loaf. I called every store I could think of in Montgomery County PA and could not find it until I called Gary's world of Wellness in Eagleville PA. they had it and I went immediately there and picked up the Multigrain Bread again and I also picked up the Cinnamon Raisin Bread. I have not tried this yet but I will and let you know about it. I also wanted to let you know that you can go onto the Rudis website and download one of their coupons when you do this every down load for the coupon , Rudis Gluten Free Bread will donate 1 dollar to the National foundation For Celiac Awareness to help in their efforts to better educate physicians in the diagnosis of Ceiliac disease. Rudis will donate a dollar, up to 20,ooo to support education for the diagnosis of Celiac disease.
Once again if you would like to purchase this bread and live in Montgomery county PA you can purchase it at
Gary's World Of Wellness
4 West Mount Kirk Avenue
Eagleville Pa 19403
telephone number 610 539 6727
I am told that other stores will start carrying it I did ask Giant Food Stores in Plymouth Meeting to order it but they said that it will take some time but they will try to get it in. I spoke with Michelle Long that takes care of the Gluten Free and Organic section at the Giant so you can always call her , the stores phone number is 610 941 5448 . She says that it might take about a month or so to see if they brought it in yet. I also called the corporate level at Giant Food Stores and I was told to call back at the end of the week and they will let me know when they can get it in.
I also want to bring out a word of caution make sure the Rudis gluten Free Bread does say on it gluten Free there is there regular line of breads in most stores now. I think the regular versions of the Rudis bread is wheat and oat so just make sure you purchase the breads that are labled gluten free they would be The Origian , the Multi Grain and The Cinnamon Raisin Bread.
I think you will be quite delighted and thrilled how great these breads taste, I know I was , I forgot to tell you the best part their breads are soft and full of lots of little crannies like real bread. I am going today to try out my old time favorite sandwitch peanut butter and jam I can not wait it will be heavenly.
I just tried the Rudis gluten free Cinnamon Raisin Bread and oh my was it ever good it tasted to me like what I remember about and loved about Pepperidge Farm's Cinnamon Raisin Bread delicious a real treat to sink your teeth into. .
Thank you

HOW TO LET YOUR DOCTOR KNOW MORE ABOUT CELIAC DISEASE
02/12/2011
If you, or a loved one have concerns that maybe you might have Celiac Disease but your doctors are not addressing your issues as to why you think you might have the disease then tell your medical professional to look at the website http://www.celiaccmecentral.com/
This website is meant for the medical professional, it gives a breakdown on the disease and how to test for Celiac disease.
After they have read all the information on Celiac Disease they are given a test to make sure that the medical professional fully understand this condition.
Just in case you need the symptoms of Celiac Disease
ANEMIA
UNEXPLAINED WEIGHT LOSS OR WEIGHT GAIN
BLOATING
ABDOMINAL PAIN
CONSTIPATION
DIARRHEA
VITAMIN DEFICIENCIES
EXTREME TIREDNESS
UNEXPLAINED SKIN RASHES
INFERTILITY
MISCARRIAGES
These are the most classic signs for Celiac Disease and if you are a type 1 diabetic you should be tested for Celiac Disease even if you do not have the symptoms because type 1 diabetes and Celiac Disease have the same gene.
Also if you would like to know if you have the genes for Celiac Disease in your family ask your doctor for a gene test for DQ2 and DQ8 if you do this you can find out if it is in your family. The DQ2 gene is the Gene that is for both Celiac Disease and Type 1 Diabetes. These two genes are the most prevelent for Celiac Disease, so ask your doctor for a gene test for Celiac Disease for the DQ2 and DQ8 Gene
If you have other autoimmune diseases then you are more predisposed to Celiac Disease.
Also just to let you know if you do have Celiac Disease in your family but you are not showing any symptoms of the disease get tested because if it is in your family and you have a family member that has the disease you may not show any symptoms some Celiac patients do not show any symptoms but have the disease and it is still doing the same damage that it is doing in your small instestine that others that show symptoms. Everyone is different with the symptoms that they have for the disease, in most cases there will be no two people that will have the same symptoms for Celiac Disease. Some people just experience the Extreme Tiredness and Weight gain or Weight Loss others may have nerological symptoms and others will have the classic symptoms that is why it is so hard to diagnose, but without the diagnosis of Celiac Disease it can lead to other more serious and deadly diseases like cancer.
The ways to get tested are the Gene test to see if it is in your family , the next step is a Celiac Panel which is a blood test and the final and most important one is the Endoscopy to see how much damage in the small intestine has been done.
Thank You

CELIAC DISEASE & TYPE 1 DIABETES
02/08/2011
If you have both conditions Celiac Dissease and type ! Diabetes you need to get to a specialist that can handle both diseases. One place I would recommend to you would be the Celiac / Diabetes Center At Paoli Hospital.
They have everything there to help you out. they have of course the Dr's like Dr. Laskin for the Celiac Disease . He can be reached at 610 644 6755. They have two Nutritionist and Dietitians on staff. They have Mary Anne Martin & Kathy Chinchola. these Dietitians can be reached at 484 565 80 20
Also if y are a new Celiac or maybe a celiac that just needs more information of the disease you can always join the Greater Philadelphia Celiac Support Group. This is run by Karen Dalyrmple her telephone number is 215 757 1233. she is unbelievably good in getting all the help you will need. It does cost you 25.00 to join but with that 25.00 you get so much information. She sends out to you a huge binder that is filled with everything to get yu started and everything in the years to come to go back too. It does cost 20.00 a year after that but you get two newsletters those newsletters are filled with about 20 - 30 pages of even more informaiton and you will see what speaker we will be having for our support meeting. Our next Support meeting will be March 18th 2011 and we have a fantastic guest it is one of the leading research doctors in Celiac Disease, our meetings are held at the Abington Memorial Hospital at the Levitz Pavillion. the doors open up at 5:45 so that you can meet new Celiacs and ones that yu have become friends with. You will also see the different vendors that have come out with their lines of food and of course learn more about Celiac disease through our speaker. Remember though you must become a member of The Greater Philadelphia Celiac Support Group through Karen Dalyrmple to go to the meeting. she can be reached at 215 757 1233.
If you are a type 1 diabetic and are still having problems with your blood sugars i would recommend for you a great helper. It is called the Dexcom System. this is a continuous blood glucose system. I have it and love it. It has a sensor that goes under your skin in your stomach. You change this sensor weekly. It measures your blood sugars every few minutes and records them. You wear a separate device that you wear outside your body like in your pocket, this is the computer for the system. It picks up all your blood sugars and stores them from the sensor that is in your body. When you get your system you set with your doctor's guidance what number he would like your system to be set up for when your blood sugars begin to rise and when your blood sugars begin to fall before they get way out of control and into dangerous levels. You will still have to test with your blood glucose meter at least twice a day and record those numbers into your Dexcom system so that your Dexcom can be Calibrated . The Dexcom system will beep at you when your blood sugars go over the amount for when your blood sugars are too high or too low. The best part I think about this system is that it show you a graph of your blood sugars, so you can see if you are getting too high or too low and you can adjust accordingly, if you would like to obtain one of the Dexcom's systems just talk it over with your doctor and you can call them at 1877 339 2664 push option 2 and they will help you out in getting one of these devices. It has helped me out a lot i have gone down two points with my A1C's I am now in normal ranges with my A1C's which is half the battle with living with type 1 diabetes
Also if you have dried out itchy skin from either or both conditions from the Celiac disease or the Diabetes the best products I know of are from the Desert Wind skin Care company. they are allergy Free chemical Free and Gluten Free. they have soaps Shampoo bars ( which is a soap shampoo and condiitoner all in one )
They come in scented and unscented . the website is http://www.desertwindskincare.com/ their telephone number is 936 776 3964 His cell phone number is 1 713 823 6847 His name is Chuck Wellman
He tells me that he is looking for distributors to help sell his products so if you are looking for any type of work call him you never know you might have a job with him
Thank You
