RUDIS GLUTEN FREE BREAD

02/22/2011

I heard from a friend of mine to try Rudis Gluten free Bread.
I like Udies Gluten free Bread but I wanted something a little bit different, but in the stores there was nothing there for me to try, nothing jumped at me.
I went on  line to look for the website for Rudis Gluten Free Bread.
I found it the website is http://www.rudisglutenfreebakery.com/, I pressed the link to find out where I could buy it and it said that Genuardis , Giant and Whole Foods carried it.  I called them and all of them said that they do not carry it, I called the company and asked where I could buy it and I emailed the person that they told me to get in contact with which is Maggie Meeks.  Maggie is a fantastic cutomer Service agent she said to me that she would look into this and find out why their products are not in the stores by now but in the mean time she would send out to me a loaf of their bread.  she asked me if I wanted the Multi Grain , Original or the Cinnamon raisin Bread.  I chose the Multigrain Bread.  she shipped it to me overnight and  I was excited to try it out.  Her email address is mmeek@rudisbakery.com she might if you ask nicely let you try a loaf also to help spread the word on how great their bread really is.
I tried out the bread and let me tell you it was spactacular it was more then I expected it to be.  It was what I felt was missing and what I wanted to have in a bread.  It was almost the size of a normal piece of bread, it tasted to me like a really good honey nut wheat bread but without the wheat.  I looked at the ingredients and they are really good.  The Rudis Multi Grain Bread has in it potato extract rice starch rice flour sorghum flour high oleic sunflower/safflower oil organic evaporated cane juice organic honey egg whites organic inulin yeast sea salt xanthan gum organic cornmeal organic sunflower seeds organic sunflower seeds organic millet organic flaxseed organic molasses
I was impressed with the ingredients and the taste brings me back to when I was not a Celiac it taste like I said before like a really good high quality bread and the texture to it is magnificient .  I made some onion soup over the weekend and I thought I might as well try using the bread like a french onion soup.
I did it it a bit differently but the taste was suburb.  I placed a slice of the Rudis Multigrain Bread tosted at the bottom of a bowl I placed on top of that two slices of provolone cheese and I poured the onion soup I made over the toasted  bread and cheese.  It was amazing the toast and cheese went to the top similar to what you would see in a French Onion Soup. I thought the bread woud becaome overly soggy but it did not the crust to the bread stayed crunchy and delicious.  I was quite amazed of how great this bread was.  I received my bread on Friday by yesterday I was almost out of it.  I was getting anxious that I would not be able to get another loaf.  I called every store I could think of in Montgomery County PA and could not find it until I called Gary's world of Wellness in Eagleville PA.  they  had it and I went immediately there and picked up the Multigrain Bread again and I also picked up the Cinnamon Raisin Bread.  I have not tried this yet but I will and let you know about it.  I also wanted to let you know that you can go onto the Rudis website and download one of their coupons when you do this every  down load for the coupon , Rudis Gluten Free Bread will donate 1 dollar to the National foundation For Celiac Awareness to help in their efforts to better educate physicians in the diagnosis of Ceiliac disease.  Rudis will donate a dollar, up to 20,ooo to support education for the diagnosis of Celiac disease.
Once again if you would like to purchase this bread and live in Montgomery county PA you can purchase it at
Gary's World Of Wellness
4 West Mount Kirk Avenue
Eagleville Pa  19403
telephone number 610 539 6727

I am told that other stores will start carrying it I did ask Giant Food Stores in Plymouth Meeting to order it but they said that it will take some time but they will try to get it in.  I spoke with Michelle Long that takes care of the Gluten Free and Organic section at the Giant so you can always call her , the stores phone number is 610 941 5448 .  She says that it might take about  a month or so to see if they brought it in yet.  I also called the corporate level  at Giant Food Stores and I was told to call back at the end of the week and they will let me know when they can get it in.

I also want to bring out a word of caution make sure the Rudis gluten Free Bread does say on it gluten Free there is there regular line of breads in most stores now.  I think the regular versions of the Rudis bread is wheat and oat so just make sure you purchase  the breads that are labled gluten free they would be The Origian , the Multi Grain and The Cinnamon Raisin Bread.
I think you will be quite delighted and thrilled how great these breads taste, I know I was , I forgot to tell you the best part their breads are soft and full of lots of little crannies like real bread.  I am going today to try out my old time favorite sandwitch peanut butter and jam I can not wait it will be heavenly.

I just tried   the Rudis  gluten free Cinnamon Raisin Bread  and oh my was it ever good it tasted to me like what I remember about and loved about Pepperidge Farm's Cinnamon Raisin Bread delicious a real treat to sink your teeth into. .

Thank you
