This desert I made for Christmas and it is really easy but it looks like you have spent time in the kitchen
My family has about a third Celiacs and the rest can eat regular food. I was going to be the only one with Celiac disease for Christmas dinner which can be challenging. They kind of let their guard down not intentionally but it happens.
I knew this and decided to make a gluten free desert and bring a few things
I amde a desert that even they wanted
4 Bananas
2 apples
1 can Pears in its own juice
1 can Peaches in its own juice
orange juice
Gluten Free granola
1 container of fruit yogurt your choice
Coconut oil
1 8X8 Pan
First off drizzle just so it coatds the bottom of the pan with melted Coconut Oil
Then line pan with sliced Bananas
Then take off skin of Apples and slice them on top of Bananas
Then drain juice of canned peaches and pears and cut them up and place them over the Bananas and apples
Drizzle again the coconut oil thinly
Put a sprinkle of Cinnamon over it
Then put a layer of granola on top , I used the Bakery On the Maine Granola I made this about an inch thick with Granola
Pour a small amount of orange Juice over it just to moisten it
Then in the Center make a small circle well and put in your container of fruited Yogurt I used Yoplait Peach Yogurt
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes , when you take it out of the oven mix the yogurt throughout the pan . this is an amazing desert and it is so easy
Best of all the next day it makes a great Breakfast served hot or cold
When I brought this desert to my Mother's my mother had said to me please take that home with you I have to many deserts . I thought no problem. The next day my sister called me and said we were all wondering why you took your desert home. We were looking for it all over the house. We wanted it for Breakfast.
My sister said that is so good please make that again and bring it with you when you come over.

UNDIAGNOSED LYME DISEASE POSSIBLE CONNECTION TO CELIAC DISEASE

Hello fellow Celiacs
I just received some interesting information that I was floored over .
I was bitten by a deer tick a few weeks back. At the time I did not realize it was a deer tick. I thought it was the big ticks that you had to worry about. About three days after I was bitten I started getting strange symptoms. I had a stiff neck low grade fever and headaches. I still did not think much about it. I then thought maybe I should go on line and see more information on Lyme disease so I did. I put in online pictures of deer tick and low and behold came the picture of the tick that was on me. I then called my doctor's office. They were not concerned they just said come in we will do a Lyme test . I was concerned because on line it says you might not get a positive result for about a month. They stated on line that you should be on antibiotics.
My doctor did not agree to that. When the test came back negative she was ready to dismiss it. I was not I convinced her to put me on antibiotics The reason why I was so persistent with my doctor about going on antibiotics is that the person at the Lyme disease chapter gave me to one of their top doctors and she said that really anyone that has been bitten by a deer tick and they know it was a deer tick should be on antibiotics. She said it takes about a month before Lyme disease will show up some patients will show up right away with the disease but the majority will take a month before it will show up. If you wait that long to go on antibiotics your health can have serious issues. If you are put on the antibiotics proactively you can have a complete recovery from Lyme disease. She said that their are stages with Lyme disease you want to have it that you are in the beginning stages. In some cases you might not know you have been bitten some of the symptoms are stiff necks low grade fevers headaches and there are many more Deer Ticks are very tiny they look like a black poppy seed.
There is a doctor that will give you a free 15 minute consultation on Lyme disease if you think you have been bitten and how to handle it. You call her up she is not located in PA and they will schedule you an appointment over the phone when it is convenient for you and her her telephone number is 480 922 4393

PART 2 OF HOW TO GET GLUTEN FREE PRODUCTS IN YOUR LOCAL STORE

Hello Fellow Celiacs
I thought I would write to you again about a post I did several months ago which is how to get gluten free items in the store that you usually shop in.
The way you would do this is go into the store that you usually shop in, go to customer service and ask who is in charge of your gluten free aisle to bring things into the store.
They may say you can only get new gluten free products by calling our corporate office, still ask for the name of the person in that department. then thank the customer service person that you were talking to and ask for the corporate number.
go to the department where the gluten free items are and search out that person. when you find him or her say I shop here all the time and love your store but I always have to shop at what ever store you get your product usually if it is by an online website tell them this informaiton. Let say the representative in the gluten free aisles name is Rich. You would say rich when I have to go and purchase something online it cost way more money if I can get it here. If I have to purchase it there it cuts into the money that I use to shop in your store so I am not able to get as much as I would like to in your department. Can you please if you can see about bringing in this product so that I do not have to cut into my pocketbook money that I usually spend in your store. If you belong to any Celiac Support Groups let them know about this tell them I have a lot of Celiac friends and they would love to shop here for their products and I wold be glad to tell them that you have it now.
In most cases they will flip to bring in the product if they can, you will need the name of the product and yu will need the bar code that is printed on the package for them to look it up for their particular ordering book. You will also need the company name.
In some instances you will have to go to the corporate number to get the product in. this sounds intimidating but it is really not. You just call the corporate number and say can you please giive me the name of the person that would be the buyer for your gluten free foods. Once you get the name ask to speak to that person.. when you get ahold of them say you would love to get this product into their store so that you do not have to go else where to get it. in most cases they will work with you.
the next step would be to call the customer service number on the package that you have and let them know that you are tring to get the product into what ever store you are trying to get into . tell them the name of the person you spoke to and where they are from and their telephone number. this way it works much faster. Your last step is to go to the person that you spoke with in the gluten free aisle. You go back to the person that we named rich in the beginning of our article. rich we spoke a week ago about getting in lets say my favorite bread Canyon Bake House Breads the San Juan Multi Grain Braead. I am Ellen do you remember me. Then say I have spoken to the Corporate office and they are working on bringing in the product is there any way we can work out a deal that you bring in a case and that I will go to you and get one loaf at a time and pay for it. . Some store will do this others will not. I know Michelle Long in Plymouth Meeting Giant Food Store will work with you . She is the head of the Gluten Free Department and she strives to help you out. Her telephone number is 610 941 5448 ask to speak to her and she will try to help you ..
I am working now on getting Canyon Bake House Breads into Bottom Dollar Foods. Bottom Dollar Foods do not have any gluten free items in their stores at all. When I first approached them when they first opened they said that they do not have the space to put it in. I waited until they were opened in our area for about a half of a year which is now then I went back to them spoke with the manager of the store. Since this is a small store you would go to the manager and ask about bringing in gluten free foods particularly a gluten free bread. They were more approachable. . I let them know that when I shop I love their stores but I have to stop and then go to their competitor Giant Food Stores and get my gluten free bread there which cuts into my time and money in their store. They said that they did not think about that way and they would make an effort to bring in the bread I wanted. I let them know that Canyon bake House Bread the San Juan Bread no one in this area . So they will not be competing for it but it is really an outstanding gluten free bread . Bottom Dollar Foods you do have to go through the corporate office. after speaking with the manager i went home and called the corporate office to bring it in. they are working on it now. It does take about 2 to 4 months for them to bring in a new product this is why I say to go back to the person Rich that we spoke earlier to and work with him to bring it in until it is in their store. What happens is that he will place it in his freezer and when you come in you go to him and tell him how many you want. He puts a code on it so he gets credit for his department and you get to know the price for the item. This is how I get products into stores it does take some work but it is worth it. .

I do not have Genuardi's number because there is a rumor out right now that Giant Food Stores will be buying most of them in the near future
Also one more tidbit there is a new virtual grocery store that is really great , they do not have many gluten free items but they are striving to bring in more. Their website is www.alice.com You have to put in a 50.00 order they will ship it to you in about three days and it is free shipping. If you put in the search bar the gluten free item that you would like they will either show you the item or say that there is 0 results for that particular item.
They will then direct you if they do not have to put in the information for them to bring it in. I usually then call the customer service number which is a 1800 number and tell them what item I would like into their data base for gluten free items and they are very accommodating..

These will be special savings that you can purchase online and they will be shipped to your door or they will have coupons for that product to redeem at the store you usually go to

They say that they send out to you even more deals on gluten free items if you let others know about their website and that you tell your friends on Facebook about their website. I am not doing this blog just to get products , I have not done the procedures to get those additional deals I am just giving you the information so that with this economy that you can save on your favorite gluten free foods.
When you sign up for their emails the deal of the day will come in your email , some of these deals you will like others you will not this is the best part you get to choose which deals that come that particular day that you like and if you do not like that particular deal no problem . NATURAL SKIN CARE FROM YOUR KITCHEN

Hi all I have come across some natural skin care products that you can make for your self that work and are a lot cheaper then getting products from stores and of course a lot healthier.
First off Honey you can do so much with honey. You can smother it on your face and leave it there for about 15 minutes then rinse off with a warm wash cloth and you have given yourself a great facial and moisturizer.
You can use it for a hair conditioner by putting a generous amount on your hair waiting about twenty minutes and rinsing off then shampoo to get all the honey out of your hair
My personal favorite for honey is to put about two tablespoons of honey maybe more if you have longer hair and fill the rest of a 16 oz cup with warm water. Stir it until the honey and water are well dissolved . Let it sit there for about an hour or two . This is now a hair lightener. You can have it on wet or dry hair just pour the mixture over your hair. You can let it sit there for as long as you can stand it then rinse off and shampoo or some people just leave it in until the next shampoo to lighten and moisturize the hair. This will not be a drastic change but it will lighten little by little and you will see a change. I had used henna on my hair and it did not turn out well. I was waiting for it to grow out. I decided to cut my hair short to get most of it off. It was half in that in between stage and I did not know what I was going to do. Then I heard about this idea from a henna website and they said that this can be done on any type of hair henna, chemical treated colored hair or just natural that you want a change. They say that it will give subtle results. I tried it and it did work for me and best of all I am not damaging my hair. Honey evidently has naturally in it hydrogen peroxide. it is very low levels that is why it does it in a way that it is not dramatic. I have done this now for about a week and my hair is almost back to my natural color. I would recommend not to use the leave in method that I told you about. I tried this one today and after about 4 hours I had to wash it out, my hair felt in a word crunchy. It did lighten it a little bit more. You just have to have time and patience for this . It is said that you leave the honey , water mixture on your head for as long as you can stand it. They say for best results 4 - 8 hours. They also say that it does better with doing distilled water with the honey..Also one more tidbit once you have the mixture on your head place either a conditioning cap or a shower cap on your head to keep your hair moist while you are lightening your hair. My next great find is Coconut oil. I love love coconut oil I use it as a moisturizer just taking some out of the jar I have and smothering it on. I use it has a hair conditioner and my personal favorite as a solid perfume. You just get a small tin leave it a side then get a microwave safe cup and place a small amount of coconut oil in it microwave it on high for about 20 to 40 seconds then take it out and carefully fill your tin with it then place about 40 drops of your favorite essential oil more if you like a very strong scent and you can mix a few scents to form your very own scent. I used Jasmine grapefruit and orange oil and a touch of lemon oil and it smells great. Just wait until it hardens then put your lid on and you have a solid perfume that you have made right out of your kitchen. Just make sure that you leave your solid perfume in a cool dry place so that it does not melt but if it does just let it harden again.
My next favorite kitchen item is an Aloe plant. You can use this as a moisturizer as a healing agent for burns and my personal favorite as a great helper for someone like me who is 50 and is beginning to have those pesty lines on your face. This plant acts like a line eraser and also it sucks up any puffiness in your face. My sister lives in California I see her about every two to four months. I thought at the time no I just do my usual things then that night I thought about it and realized it was the aloe plant
I wanted to put onto this skin care blog some of my older natural skin care tips so that they are there in one page for you.
Soap nuts for a natural laundry soap . You can go to the website www.laundrytree.com I love doing this , these are from a plant in India that is how natural they are. This is so economical too You pay l9.95 which sounds a lot for a natural detergent but it is not really. . When you get your detergent you take out of it between 5 to 8 soapnuts and put them in the little cotton draw string bag that come in with it. The Soap nuts look like acorns to me. After you put them in the draw string bag you draw it close and knot it then place it in the washer with your clothes. This its it , it is non scented so if you want scent you can get your favorite natural essential oils and place about twenty drops on a wash cloth and place it in the laundry then you will have scent. You then can use the pouch of soapnuts up to 5 times. Then you just make up a new set up soapnuts for your next laundry. The laundry detergent that you bought will last you for half of a year. There is a natural fabric softener in it by nature. After yu have used the detergent up to 5 times you can make a liquid soap after it. I love doing this I take the cotton bag that has the used soapnuts in it and place it in a pot of water and let it simmer for about a half an hour or you can just let it sit in a pot with out any heat over night. Take it out and squeeze it out the soapnuts and this is now your liquid soap. I put in mine a few table spoons of melted coconut oil a few table spoons of avocado oil and a few tablespoons of honey then I go to town working with different essential oils to form my favorite scent. My skin is so soft and so smooth from doing this and their is a shimmer on my skin. I almost forgot I do put into it a few tablespoons of unscented Castile soap. this acts as a preservative and makes it stay a little longer since this is so natural.
The next natural item I use is Baking Soda I use this as a shampoo. I just put in about 2 to three table spoons of baking soda in a 16 oz cup and fill the rest with warm water and stir this is it just either pour it straight on your hair or you can do it with wetting your hair it really does not matter which way to do it then rinse off and that is it. It might take a little bit of tiem for your hair to get used to it but it will be better then it was before after it doesg et used to it.
if your hair is a little bit dry at any time just put some coconut oil in your hand about a very small amount rub it in your hands then put it on your hair and it will hav eso much shine to it.

Hi all I have come across some natural skin care products that you can make for your self that work and are a lot cheaper then getting products from stores and of course a lot healthier.
First off Honey you can do so much with honey. You can smother it on your face and leave it there for about 15 minutes then rinse off with a warm wash cloth and you have given yourself a great facial and moisturizer.
You can use it for a hair conditioner by putting a generous amount on your hair waiting about twenty minutes and rinsing off then shampoo to get all the honey out of your hair
My personal favorite for honey is to put about two tablespoons of honey maybe more if you have longer hair and fill the rest of a 16 oz cup with warm water. Stir it until the honey and water are well dissolved . Let it sit there for about an hour or two . This is now a hair lightener. You can have it on wet or dry hair just pour the mixture over your hair. You can let it sit there for as long as you can stand it then rinse off and shampoo or some people just leave it in until the next shampoo to lighten and moisturize the hair. This will not be a drastic change but it will lighten little by little and you will see a change. I had used henna on my hair and it did not turn out well. I was waiting for it to grow out. I decided to cut my hair short to get most of it off. It was half in that in between stage and I did not know what I was going to do. Then I heard about this idea from a henna website and they said that this can be done on any type of hair henna, chemical treated colored hair or just natural that you want a change. They say that it will give subtle results. I tried it and it did work for me and best of all I am not damaging my hair. Honey evidently has naturally in it hydrogen peroxide. it is very low levels that is why it does it in a way that it is not dramatic. I have done this now for about a week and my hair is almost back to my natural color. I would recommend not to use the leave in method that I told you about. I tried this one today and after about 4 hours I had to wash it out, my hair felt in a word crunchy. It did lighten it a little bit more. You just have to have time and patience for this . It is said that you leave the honey , water mixture on your head for as long as you can stand it. They say for best results 4 - 8 hours. They also say that it does better with doing distilled water with the honey..Also one more tidbit once you have the mixture on your head place either a conditioning cap or a shower cap on your head to keep your hair moist while you are lightening your hair. If yu would like more information about Henna and how to do it correctly you can call the Henna Page at 1 330 673 0600 and you can look at their website at www.hennapage.com this is the website that helped me out so much with the idea of the honey and water.
My next great find is Coconut oil. I love love coconut oil I use it as a moisturizer just taking some out of the jar I have and smothering it on. I use it has a hair conditioner and my personal favorite as a solid perfume. You just get a small tin leave it a side then get a microwave safe cup and place a small amount of coconut oil in it microwave it on high for about 20 to 40 seconds then take it out and carefully fill your tin with it then place about 40 drops of your favorite essential oil more if you like a very strong scent and you can mix a few scents to form your very own scent. I used Jasmine grapefruit and orange oil and a touch of lemon oil and it smells great. Just wait until it hardens then put your lid on and you have a solid perfume that you have made right out of your kitchen. Just make sure that you leave your solid perfume in a cool dry place so that it does not melt but if it does just let it harden again.
My next favorite kitchen item is an Aloe plant. You can use this as a moisturizer as a healing agent for burns and my personal favorite as a great helper for someone like me who is 50 and is beginning to have those pesty lines on your face. This plant acts like a line eraser and also it sucks up any puffiness in your face. My sister lives in California I see her about every two to four months. EXCITING NEWS THAT I HAVE COME ACROSS FOR US CELIACS

Greetings:
I have about 5 or 6 businesses that I am presently working on from home which I love.
I do things the traditional way of promoting these businesses and the not so traditional ways,
The things that I found out just this week were mind blowing i think
I found a couple of website that I am working on to get our products on these websites.
The reason why I am telling all this to you is that they can help people with Celiac disease
The first one is www.peapod.com this is a virtual grocery store. Right now they do not have many gluten free options but they promise me they are trying to get more in and I have given them many suggestions. You do have to have at least a 60.00 order and you have to call 24 hours in advance. The shipping is free for the first 2 months This is only in some areas it is part of Giant Food Stores this is a delivery service that you put your order on line. You do put your Bonus Card savings in also so that you can get the savings of the week and they do take coupons.

The 2nd website is www.alice.com This is another website that is a virtual grocery store they do have much more gluten free options and they are working to get more. I love this website because you buy 6 or more items and the shipping is free . They use UPS and for my area which is in the suburbs of Philadelphia they told me that it would take two days. I do have to check if you have to have a minimum order and I will find that out on Monday. I just found out tha tyou do have to have at least a 50.00 order but the shipping is always free.
They also have a program where you refer friends to their website you get money for it. to find out what gluten free items they have you would just put in the search bar gluten free cereal or gluten free pasta or whatever you are looking for.
My third and last website that i came across is www.eatshopgive.com This one I also love they spot lite a few products from companies and you get them at a discounted price at the end of the day what ever the company that is spot lighted for their product they pick out what charity they like and 10 % of the profits for that day go to that charity that they chose. It is a win win situation, you get the products at a discounted price and someone gets help from your shopping experience. How can you not like that idea . I know one of the businesses that is involved with this company is putting his charity for the National Foundation For Celiac Awareness which is fantastic Take a look at The Little Bakery in Blue Bell PA 19422 He makes gluten free bakery products that are out of this world. To me the owner of the Little Bakery is amazing he has put his products in some of the schools in the area and even in some colleges so that people can taste how great his products are and that kids can feel like they too can get something special.

They look like a combination of a plum pit attached to an acorn. This is a type of berry that is dried out to almost like a hard stone.

PUCkETA CREEK SOAPNUTS PART 2

I had told you before about an earlier post with Pucketa Cree Soapnuts which I said before I love. I still do.
The Pucketa Creek Soapnuts are a fabulous all natural hypoallergenic detergent and they are unscented. There are many things you can use these soapnuts after you are done using it as a detergent. I just made a fabulous shampoo out of them
All you have to do is take the soapnuts that you used in the laundry and boil them for about a half of an hour. then take out the soapnuts when cooled down. The liquid that is left is your shampoo. This will not have much suds to it but it will make your hair full of volume and shine and help your hair grow. If you like foam all you have to do is go to the website www.forsoapmakers.com there you will see foaming bottles. You can purchase one for 3.00 which will be a 7.5 oz bottle. When you get your bottle fill it with your soapnut liquid. If it is still not sudsey enough for you, you can ad a few table spoons of a liquid castile soap . I used Dr. Bonner's Castile scent . I used the unscented baby Castile soap. I put in about 2 tablespoons in with the soapnuts and it is wonderful.
My hair is full of volume soft shinny and the best part itch free.
I also just purchased some essential oils when I get them I will be putting some on and making my own shampoo scent. I always have had to use conditioner but with this I do not my hair looks and feels great.
My soapnut shampoo can be used as a shampoo, conditioner, soap, or as a facial.
You have got to try out these soapnuts . I am trying to get them into stores as soon as I have accomplished this I will let yu know . My Dads Cookies one of the best gluten free cookies I have tried are now at Whole Foods Market in Plymouth Meeting Pa at the Plymouth Meeting Mall 500 West Germantown Pike
They have 5 different flavors they have Vanilla Graham dipped half with Chocolate
Chocolate Sandwich like an Oreo type cookie
Chocolano like a Pepperidge Farm Milano
Cranenergy this is a Cranberry Orange Cookie
This is great for an afternoon tea or with coffee
Black & White Cookie this is a Black & White Sponge cake like cookie.
These are all gluten free and delicious
I am working to get these in all the Whole Food Stores in PA so if you would like them in your store at Whole Foods Market just tell the grocery Manager you would like them to have them in their store and tell him that they are in the Plymouth Meeting store now he can look them up and order them in for you but in the mean time I will do my best to have them brought into a store near you.

I just discovered that in the Organics Gluten Free aisle at Giant Food Stores they now have the new TastyKake Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies Ho ray

JULIAN BAKERY GLUTEN FREE PURITY BREAD

I just received this bread, it really is a very interesting bread. when you get it it is not sliced and it is round. It is a little bit smaller then most gluten free breads.
I would say that it is a cross between a Rye, Sour Dough and an English Muffin type of consistency
I do like it, I think it would be nice toasted open faced and maybe putting some cheese and pesto sauce on it.
This could be very nice for a family gathering with a nice wine
It also has almost like a touch of a cheese taste to it. It is a very interesting bread and best of all it is extremely good for you , especially for diabetics that have Celiac disease.
It has 8 grams of fiber to it , 7 grams of protein and best of all 0 grams of sugar.
It has 68 calories and 0 grams of fat per slice.

NATURAL LAUNDRY SOAP BY PUCKETA CREEK SOAPNUTS

I love this company this truly is all natural the other ones that I have talked about with Laundry detergents were natural also . This is straight from a tree. The product is soap nuts .. You can look at their website www.naturallaundrysoap.net
When you go to their website they will have on their an option for you to try their Natural Laundry Soap free of charge, you just pay for shipping which is not much I think when I did it it was 4.94 and it came very fast.
When you get your free sample which is scent free it will come in a little cotton bag .
It will look like 5 acorns inside the bag. This is what you use to clean your clothes. You just place your clothes in the washer, make sure that the soap nuts are in the bag and close the top of it and place it in your washer. If you have white clothes to boost the cleaning add a little bit of baking soda. Wash your clothes that is it . Take out the bag and you can reuse it up to 5 more times
On the website you can push the option for other uses for the nuts and it will show you that after you get done using it for laundry you can place it in a container put some boiling water over it and let it sit for a little bit. Once it is fully cool you strain it and this can be used as house hold cleaner soap for your hands or even hair wash best of all you have made it and it is all natural. This detergent is like getting 4 - 6 products for the price of one depending on what you decide to make of it. I just think it is so cool that you have something that is unscented and all natural that you do the laundry with and when you are done that usage you still have other options that you can make for skin care or for house hold cleaners. It just totally amazes me on what you can do with this one product.
If you can tolerate scents you can add essential oils to it to have the fragrance that you would like for your laundry or for your soap that you make up which would make a nice gift for someone. If you end of making the soap you can put it in a real nice container put the fragrance in by the essential oils that you choose then if you know how to crochet make a wash cloth to go with it. You can also make out of the soap nuts dish washing detergent which the website will show you how then once again make a dish cloth by crocheting one with 100 % natural yarn . The natural crocheted yarn dish cloth really cleans very well. It is stiffer then most dish cloths so you can really scrub with it to get your dishes clean.
To make a shampoo out of the soapnuts you just after you have used them for your laundry up to the 5 times you just get a sauce pan you boil about 3 cups a water when it is boiling you place your soapnuts in the pan and lower the heat so it does not boil over you let it simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes then turn off heat.
Yu let it cool down then strain it and pour it into an air type container with a lid.
That is it but it will not foam much it will take a little bit of time to get used to.
It will take about a week to two weeks for your hair to learn to adjust to this new form of cleaning your hair. but it will be worth the wait. You can make a foamy shampoo/soap by putting a little in a container about a half of a cup and use a hand held blender I used a battery operated blender that I use to make capachino. You then just place the blender in the container and blend to make the foam and it does foam up a lot but when you go to use it it will not stay thick a foam so it will take time to get used to but as they say good things come to those who persevere.
I wanted to let you also know that this natural detergent is also a natural fabric softener so you are getting two products in one.
This detergent is also antibacterial biodegradable and hypoallergenic.

I love this line of skin care products.
They only have three or four ingredients in them, bees wax shea butter and coconut oil in various degrees to make different products
The Rash cream or diaper rash cream has the same ingredients but with zink oxide added to it.
The products they have is a Hard Lotion which is in a tin container . this I love it is for really dry rough cracked skin. You rub it on the areas like your elbows knees ankles and heels that are severely dry. When you rub it on your rough skin the rubbing causes the hard lotion to soften by the heat of you rubbing making it sink into your skin instantly. The bees wax sinks into your skin to form a protective barrier on your skin so you won't have such dry skin again and the other ingredients soften and moisturize your skin making it softer and softer. They have two sizes to choose from, this I really like you can try out the product in a 1 oz tin to see if this works for you . the cost of the 2 oz. tin if 5.95 plus tax .
The Bees Wax Junior is the same as the Hard Lotion but a softer formula for more delicate areas . They also have a small size to try it out the cost for this is 5.95
You just take a small amount on the tips of your fingers rub it together and it becomes a thin liquid oil to massage into your skin A little bit goes along way.
Hair Butter this is for really dried out hair or course hair you just take a tiny bit out rub it together and massage it into your hair and scalp. Once again they have a tiny tin to try out this product for 4.95 .

ANOTHER GREAT NATURAL LIQUID DETERGENT CHARLIES SOAP

I just came across this all natural liquid detergent. The name of the company is Charlies Soap
The website is www.charliesoap.com They are located in North Carolina and their telephone number is 1 800 854 3541
One of the reasons why I like this detergent is that they do have a lot of locations of stores that carry this detergent in Pennsylvania. All you have to do is go online to their website (www.charliesoap.com and look up the store locator on the headings of their website.
I am sure if you do not live in Pennsylvania you can find this detergent close to you just do the same as if you would do if you did live in PA. Go to the store locator and put your zip code in and you will find stores near you I am sure and if there is not a store near you they will ship it to you. I just like this option so you do not have to have the extra cost of shipping charges.
I like this detergent also because it is easy to use it is made of all natural ingredients and it has a premeasured amount to use to clean your clothes.
It is a little pricey but the results are very good for when your laundry comes out of your washer.
The cost for a bottle of the detergent is 27.99 for 32oz. bottle but if it means no itching and no reactions I am sold.
Charlie's Soap leaves no residue that can make your clothes stiff and irritating and it is especially good for babies clothes and for people with allergies or for sensitive skin issues
I did have some really nasty dirty clothes which I put to the test. These clothes had blood on them for when my cat had gotten scared with trying to get a tick off him. He scratched me silly. He has super sharp nails and he had dug deep into my arm which put some stains on my shirt and I also had some real grungy clothes from my son. I thought this would be a great test for this detergent and it came out quite well. The stains were gone
I was impressed with the detergent and best of all no reactions
On the bottle it has a statement at the bottom of the bottle great for the following stains grease, grass, blood, red clay, red wine, food stains , tar, odors, pine sap, and poop.
I was a little bit concerned that an all natural laundry might not take out the blood stains from my cat but it did do a very good job. I did first pretreated it rubbing a little bit on the sleeve and then putting it in the laundry.. It did come out and my sons clothes were out of their grungy stage so I am impressed with this laundry detergent and best of all like I said before no reactions to using it which is the best reason to try it.

WALGREENS ONLINE CARE MEDICAL ID BRACELETS

I just discovered that Walgreen's has Care Medial ID Bracelets
I ordered one of these bracelets, I love it it is very light weight it is waterproof and best of all it has all my medical information stored in the bracelet. The way it works is that you get the bracelet which ranges from 14.99 to 19.99 plus shipping. You have to go to the Walgreen's website which is www.walgreens.com You then put in the search bar on their website Care Medial ID Bracelet. .
When you get the bracelet you unhook it it is made out of rubber with a clasp to it
It has a metal end to it when you unhook it this goes into your computer
You will be directed to their sight on how to download your medical information. You then will put all your medical information in a file that will be stored in the bracelet for when a medial staff can easy access it for when you can not let them know that you are a Celiac patient and can not have gluten.
I am a Celiac patient plus a type 1 Diabetic
I also have high blood pressure. You put all your information in that they ask such as your doctor's name your Pharmacy name your medial information contact person and your insurance information. plus your blood type.
I think this bracelet is important for Celiacs in case that for some reason you are unconscious and come in an ER you have the information letting the medical staff know that you have Celiac disease and can not have Gluten from the get go.
The medial staff can call your doctor right away and get all the extra information that they may need plus be able to notify your family members right away. .
The information that you store in the bracelet is not the easiest to set up you kind of have to figure things out for yourself but once you get the hang of it it is not that bad . It is worth the minor inconvenience with putting the information in for you to have all your medical files in one spot .to let others know about your medial needs for when you can not let others know about them yourself.

It is free of sodium lauryl sulfate it is free of chlorine derivatives colorings and paraben preservatives
It has plant moisturizers in it. If you do not like the whole idea of shampoo bars this is not one . It's an all liquid gel that has 12 oz. and is super moisturizing for an all over head to foot spa like feel to it

I chose the Fragrance Free Shower Gel since I am usually allergic to everything that has a scent to it. I can have a few products that have scents in them but not many

I am impressed with this product it did a great job and it is also all natural .
I like once again a product that does everything all in one.

I had done a Henna coloring on my hair and my hair from it was a little bit fried from it I tried the conditioner and instantly my hair was like it just got a jolt of steroids it was soft and full of volume. I did not leave it in for very long it was just a rinse through the difference was like night and day. The shine to it is amazing and with the Henna the highlights are stunning you will love this product.

Holly Hill Health Food Store at the Montgomery Coomons Shopping Center is trying out this bread in their store so let them know you want it . This is the only store in Pennsylvania that is carrying this bread
We have to let them know we want this bread so that it can come into other stores.
If this store is not close to you please find a health food store that is close to you call that store ask them if they would try bringing in this bread
If they say we do not have a distributor to bring it in Pennsylvania all you have to do is let them know that a fairly new distributor company has come in and they do carry the bread. The name of the distributor company is Garden Spot Distributors. they are located in New Holland PA, their telephone number is 1800 829 5100
The store that you have called will ask you if you want a whole case in most cases you will not have to buy a whole case just tell them up front you only want 1 loaf in most cases they will say that they prefer you buy two loaves. this is not bad you figure if you had it delivered it would be more money then the two loaves

conditioning shampoo bar and it was great. they also have a leave in conditioner called Smile which I really love It is a very rich moisturizing leave in conditioner that you put a tiny dot in the palm of your hand rub it in your hands after you towel dry your hair depending on how long your hair is and massage it into your hair.
My hair came out soft shinny and full of volume from both products

I also like this company because they do have an option for shipping that is free of charge so the only cost is the cost of the soap which is 6.95 plus tax. I do not know of any company that has this option. The soap feels like you are bathing with a soap and a cream. I also use this soap as a shampoo and conditioner. It is so nice to have one product that takes care of all my needs

NATURAL CLOTHES DETERGENT

As you know in the past I have posted a lot about being very sensitive to soaps and shampoos..
This time I am writing about that I am also very sensitive to clothes detergents
I even tried the fragrance free store bought detergents that are out there but in about twenty minutes after doing the laundry and putting a shirt on I would have a reaction to it.
I would be scratching and have tiny red bumps all over my shoulders back and arms..
I finally had solved my problem with soaps and shampoos now I realized I had to do something better with getting a more natural clothes detergent
Using an eery day store bought fragrance free detergent was not working.
I was thinking now where can I find a natural detergent .
On my blog I saw that someone had posted a comment about my blog saying how much they liked it
I never saw the website before and decided to take a look at it

I was redirected to a website called No Gluten Natural Girl
They had sub titles on the left hand side and pictures on the right hand side of Make up soaps lipsticks shampoos detergents mouthwash tooth paste and of course all gluten free. It is nice to have a website that has everything right there to get all your personal items and cleaning items that are gluten free.
The sub titles on the left hand side say things like

Guys stuff
House hold Stuff this is where the detergents and the house hold cleaners will be
I tried out their detergents and loved them
The clothes came out very soft of course these are all natural and fragrance free
Some how the clothes looked better they looked new again when they were not
The clothes looked brighter and I really could not believe how soft they were
The true test I put one of my shirts on and after about an hour I realized no reaction
The cost of it is $15.00 for a 2lb container and I know you say to yourself this is just to much money but it is really not because it is so concentrated that you use far less then you would with the regular detergent that you are using and it really cleans much better and best of all no reactions from using the product which is half the battle
I am finally beginning to feel like a happy camper again no skin issues from soaps and shampoos, no issues from using a clothes detergent.
They do have everything there for you in one spot I have not tried all the products but it is nice to have everything there to figure out what you need in one spot to get your personal items for when you have skin care issues with allergies

The dish cloth I was using was grungy and really dirty after doing all the dishes that I did. I decided to see how it would do with getting out the stains on it
I was doing a lot of pots and pans so it was really quite dirty.
I put it in the laundry that i was doing and when it came out it was as white as it was after I first made it
You would have never known that I had just done all those pots and pans it looked new again

CUSTOM CHOICE CEREALS

I thought I had posted a post about these marvelous cereals, but I just checked my records and I have not
These cereals are amazing and the concept for these cereals is amazing too.
It is perfect for kids and adults with Celiac disease or for people with allergies.

When you go onto the website there is a three step process to form your very own cereal concoction that at the end you name which is great for when you have children with celiac disease they get to name the cereal that they have made
First you have a choice of what type of base you would like to have such as a couple different types of flakes or granola
Then you pick out what type of dried fruits you would like in the cereal and if you would prefer it to be organic
When you make your choice to have it organic or not there really is not much difference in price if you want it to be organic
Then you pick out what nuts or seeds you would like
There are many different choices to choose from for the fruits nuts and seeds and you can put together any combination yu would like
At the end you get to name your very own blend of cereal and also on the package after you have made up your choices it has all the nutritional values that are in your cereal
I can not give you a cost for this since it is going to be what you come up .
I love love this company everything is all natural and it is so nice to be able to form a blend that you would like to eat for a snack or for a meal
It is also nice to be in control on what you are eating instead of having it that the disease has the control I can imagine when you are a child and you get this disease suddenly all their control on what they want to eat is taken away saying sorry you can not eat that and seeing other kids eating it. I know when I was little I became a type 1 Diabetic and I had to do a total change in what I was eating and how to control my Diabetes. It was very difficult my brothers and sisters were eating everything I used to eat and I could not I had no control with what I was eating. The children do have control they get to pick out what they would like and best of all if they are a Celiac and a type 1 Diabetic this is good for both conditions
I wish there was something like this for when I was little I think it would have made it a little bit easier on me and my paarents.
This approach kind of makes you feel special since it is something that you or your child made up and there is so much to choose from you will never get tired of it
Since you are dealing with Flakes Granola Nuts Fruit Seeds you are getting a bountiful of fiber which is great for us Celiacs and for that matter type 1 Diabetics
The owner of this company is amazing that he thought up of this philosophy.
He is not a Celiac but he had Celiac friends that had told him that there was not much out there that tasted good and that it was good for them
He came up with this idea and it is now an online business to help out people with Celiac Disease

GLUTEN FREE SANDWICH PETALS

I rediscovered my favorite gluten free flat bread sandwich wrap
These are really fantastic and do not need refrigeration. they can be stored up to a month but I know once you have tried these sandwich wraps they will not be sitting on the counter they will be gone in no time at all.
Your friends and family that do not have Celiac disease will be jealous of you they are that good
I bet if you did an experiment and put these out for your friends or family they would be gone in a second but I would not recommend doing this because you will want them for your self
They are not just good tasting but they are good for you too.
They have 10 Ancient grains in each tortilla
They have prebiotics to aid in digestive health
They have heart healthy Omega 3's in each tortilla
They are also loaded with fiber with all this in them they taste magnificent .
They are also allergen free
They come in three different flavors
My ultimate favorite Spinach Garlic Pesto
Chimayo Red Chille
Agave Grain
These tortillas are also very good if you are also a type 1 diabetic with all the fiber they have in them
They come in three packages for a total of 36 tortillas 12 in each package

EASY GLUTEN FREE PEANUT BUTTER /CHOCOLATE COOKIES

I love these cookies I saw these cookies online but I changed them a little bit for what I like in a peanut butter cookie, to me you can not have just peanut butter without chocolate
This recipe is super easy and great for when someone comes over unexpectedly and you want something quick and good for a desert.
the recipe is as follows you can double this recipe if you know you are having more people over
1 cup gluten free peanut butter I use Skippy Peanut Butter
1 cup Sugar
1 egg
1 package plain Hershey's Chocolate Kisses
Mix together the peanut butter the egg and the sugar drop by 1 table spoon per cookie onto greased cookie sheet
Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes take out cookies and place 1 Hershey Kiss on each cookie
It will melt into the cookie and it is delicious, it taste like a Reeses candy bar yum
One of my friends suggested occasionally to put a recipe in so I decided to do this one, it is quick easy and really very good

DEXCOM CONTINUOUS BLOOD GLUCOSE METER

I am writing this blog for members that are Type 1 Diabetics
I don't know if you have ever heard of The Dexcom Continuous Glucose Meter but it is outstanding
It is a meter that reads your blood sugars continuously for a week then you have to put in another transmitter on.
This systems helps you out so much what you do is when you get the system you set it up putting in the date and time
Then you charge what I call the control pad initial charging can take up to three hours then you get your transmitter this goes into your stomach.
This device goes in by a inch long needle once it is in your stomach you take out the needle and a Teflon needle stays in for about a week This sounds painful but it is not it just feels like a slight pick that is it at least this is the way I describe it and when it goes in it goes in by an applicator..
Then you put your sensor in and snap it in place, then you get your control panel and push the button that says start sensor this will take about close to three hours to be able to start recording blood sugars
Your Dexcom will beep at you and it will want two blood sugars from your regular meter. You put these in one at a time. It will then start measuring your blood sugars but you do have to put in your control panel what your doctor wants as your high level for instance my doctor wants mine at 200 so if my blood sugars goes over 200 the control panel will beep at me and say check blood sugar with your regular meter to make sure you are truly high. the Dexcom system is very reliable but there is always a chance that it might give you a false high or low blood sugar so if you have an alarm go off for high or low you must test on a regular blood glucose machine to make sure of your results . I have never had it that my device has given me a false reading.
After you have done all this your Dexcom system will read your blood sugars continuously.
In the morning and in the evening you will have to put in a blood sugar to calibrate your Dexcom system.with your regular blood glucose machine .
I love the Dexcom system I can not tell you how much it has helped me. I used to have to test 15 times a day because I had hypoglycemic unawareness and also when my blood sugars were high I did not know it
A couple of times my blood sugars were over 500 and i did not know it I had no symptoms at all . I also had blood sugars that were almost in the passing out stage they were in the 20's still I had no symptoms to tell me I was in trouble..
My A1C's were good they were in the 600's but my doctor was afraid that if someone was not at home to help me out with a low blood sugar I could have serious health issues so he decided that I should be on this device.
Some health insurances are hard to get this approved mine was one of them but I would not take no for an answer.
I wrote letters stating why I needed it and called them every day until it was approved and I really feel that this device has saved my life
Once I got it approved I called my doctor's office to thank him in getting this approved he stated you know it was not me it was you they said no to me it was your perseverance in getting it approved that did it
I also like this company because once you decide to try out this system you call them and say I want to try this out. In most cases they will go to your doctor's office and have you try it out for a week to see if this is for you. When I tried it out I almost cried when I had to give back my loaner. I said to the nurse can't I keep this one until mine is approved and she laughed and said no
You can reach the Dexcom company by dialing 1 877 339 2664 and push option 2 they will take your information and set up an appointment for you to try it out

This system is the best it lets you know if there is a problem with your blood sugars before it is a problem for instance I have my blood sugar setting for when I am low for 70 so it will beep at me when it goes to 70 which is great it is a lot better then having blood sugars in the 20's
I feel much better
The training is easy, my son I tried to get him one of the systems for his blood sugars he does not test as much as he should
I thought he would not be a happy camper but he did try it out and you know what he loved it
He said it is easy it is almost fun and it makes his college life a lot easier to deal with.
He said this is great I don't have to test accept when I get up in the morning and when I go to bed at night
I also want to let you know that this system will give you blood sugars for about a week then you have to take off the transmitter and put a new one on. You take out the sensor and put it into the new transmitter and start all over again
You do have to charge it probably about twice a week and you have to have the control panel no more then 5 feet away from you or else it iwll beep at you and say that you are out of range for blood sugars
Animus Insulin Pumps are working hand in with Dexcom to have it that they will work together as one
This is already done in Europe but believe me even though they do not work as one it is not difficult at all.to handle both devices
Just to let you know that the control panel is not very big it is probably about 3 and half inches long it is oval shaped . I put mine in my pocket and no one knows it is there unless it beeps
I think you will like this system what have you got to lose you might just like me feel better and have better A1C's for your blood sugar control
To me this system makes it not a job to have diabetes, it puts you in control instead of the opposite so call Dexcom now and try it out, call Dexcom now at 1877 339 2664 option 2

This system is the best it lets you know if there is a problem with your blood sugars before it is a problem for instance I have my blood sugar setting for when I am low for 70 so it will beep at me when it goes to 70 which is great it is a lot better then having blood sugars in the 20's

The training is easy, my son I tried to get him one of the systems for his blood sugars he does not test as much as he should
I thought he would not be a happy camper but he did try it out and you know what he loved it
He said it is easy it is almost fun and it makes his college life a lot easier to deal with.
He said this is great I don't have to test accept when I get up in the morning and when I go to bed at night
I also want to let you know that this system will give you blood sugars for about a week then you have to take off the transmitter and put a new one on. You take out the sensor and put it into the new transmitter and start all over again
You do have to charge it probably about twice a week and you have to have the control panel no more then 5 feet away from you or else it iwll beep at you and say that you are out of range for blood sugars
Animus Insulin Pumps are working hand in with Dexcom to have it that they will work together as one
This is already done in Europe but believe me even though they do not work as one it is not difficult at all.to handle both devices
Just to let you know that the control panel is not very big it is probably about 3 and half inches long it is oval shaped . I put mine in my pocket and no one knows it is there unless it beeps
I think you will like this system what have you got to lose you might just like me feel better and have better A1C's for your blood sugar control
To me this system makes it not a job to have diabetes, it puts you in control instead of the opposite so call Dexcom now and try it out, call Dexcom now at 1877 339 2664 option 2

As you can see with my blog I have tried out a number of soaps for my dry skin needs and they were all very good but I just found the king of the Mother load or I should say Father load of Soaps.
I came across a soap company called Daddy Jax Soaps I always look into how they got started and with this company it was because of their son.
They were trying to help him out with his skin needs and decided to try to make a soap that he could use that would not bother his skin and this is how this company came about.
I decided to give them a try and see if this would work for me.
I decided to try the Shea Bar ( Unscented), the Cinnamon Almond and the Honey Bee.
When the package came I decided to be daring and try the Cinnamon Almond first.
I thought this would be a true test since I became a Celiac I usually I can not wear any type of scent in soaps or my skin goes into over drive and I get a fierce reaction and I knew this could happen but I through caution to the wind and thought I would try it.
The scent was marvelous and I became very excited but still skeptical thinking that I will probably still break out or just have very dry skin well quite the opposite happened.
My skin almost came out of hibernation it became alive again.
My skin felt like it just came out of an expensive spa filled with moisturizers and kind of a zen effect
My hands were so soft and supple and they had a glow about them
I really became daring and tried it on my face, usually when I try any of these types of soaps on my face it feels like my face is just cracking in the desert and most of the soaps that I have tried before this were good and moisturized my face but this was way different
The skin on my face looked and felt new it felt like as they say a newborns skin .
My face had a radiance to it my face felt pampered and not just moisturized but nourished from the inside out.
These soaps are more then just natural soaps they are tiny spas in the palm of your hand cleaning and nourishing your skin to sheer blissfulness of well moisturized skin
They are an exceptional treat to your skin
Your skin will go into overdrive but not like I said before in dryness but in sheer delight

I just came across a soap company that gives out free samples of their all natural soaps.
These soaps are all natural and fragrance free

You have a choice of their Dry Skin Formula or their Mature Skin Formula but their Mature Skin Formula does have Wheat Germ Oil in it
I just received my sample of their Dry Skin Formula and it really did help out my skin
I don't know know if it becuase of the summer heat or just that my skin is in over dry right now. it is dry itchy and does not look the greatest right now. When I saw this product I decided to try it since they do give out a free sample what do I have to lose and if I can better skin why not try it
Well it did a great job on my first try. So far no itch and my skin feels and looks more normal.

ANIMAS ONE TOUCH PING INSULIN PUMP

Hi , I am a type 1 Diabetic my current insulin pump that I was using which is the Animas 2020 was out of warranty. I went through the procedures to get a new insulin pump for my Diabetes control.
Generally insurance companies will not replace an insulin pump that is out of warranty until there is a problem with the pump that you are using.
My pump did have a major problem with it so I was able to get another pump
I chose the Animas One touch Ping, I love love this insulin pump
They have with the pump a One Touch Ultra blood glucose machine. they are two separate machines but the coolest part is that they wirelessly go together.
When you get your One Touch Ping Insulin Pump and One Touch Ultra Meter you program them so they work together as one.
You test your blood sugar with the One Touch Ultra Meter this simultaneously goes to your insulin pump then it will direct you to if you want to do a EZ Carb which means that if you are planning to eat something you would put into the meter how many carbs you will be taking for that particular meal or you can go to your EZ BG which means that you put in the blood sugar that you just did with your blood sugar to determine if you need more insulin to have ideal blood sugars.
For instance if I am having breakfast and my blood sugar is 128 and I am having 50 grams of carb for breakfast the meter will program me as to how much insulin I should be taking to have my blood sugars stay in good control. I decide if that amount is good for my settings and say yes give that much insulin.
The amount of insulin that was programed into the One Touch Blood Glucose meter is then programed to go to the One Touch Ping Insulin pump and gives out that much insulin.
This is almost fun to do all that I have to do to have good control with my Type 1 Diabetes
You can see how this works by going in your search engine and putting in The Animas One Touch Ping and they will show you how this all works.
I also like the Animus Company for insulin pumps because they are the only company that I know of that has in their pumps a food data base. At the present time the Animus Insulin Pumps does not have gluten free products but they are working on this to be a part of their pump therapies.
You can still program your insulin pump with gluten free items so that you have your own Gluten Free Data base in your insulin pump.
All you do is call the Animas Insulin Pump Company , the number is 1877 937 7867 which spells out 1877 Yes Pump you would then push option 5 and let them know that you have to program your Animus Insulin Pump with gluten free items . They will direct you how to do this and how to down load the information that you put in on your computer to your insulin pump . Once you have down loaded all your information with your gluten free items that you eat then everything will be there in your pump in your Food Data Base for you to have anywhere you go.

UDI'S MILLET-CHIA GLUTEN FREE BREAD ANCIENT GRAIN BREAD

I just tried the Udi's Millet-ChiaGluten Free Bread.
I love love this gluten free bread
It tastes like a real grain bread should taste
It not only taste really good but it is full of fiber so it is nutritionally a sound product.If you are a type 1 Diabetic it helps you out with your insulin requirements because of the fiber in it. Fiber in your diet helps balance out carbohydrates so it minimizes the spikes of blood sugars that occur.when eating them.
It has 5 grams of protein in it, 6 grams of dietary fiber so it is not just a gluten free bread that taste good but a gluten free bread that is in my opinion one that has a lot of nutritional vales in it
I am very impressed with this bread, I know I am going to be looking for this bread in my local grocery store.
I just called the North Wales Store in Pennsylvania and they carry this product
I am told that it is in most Whole Food Stores right now carry this product so in my opinion we all should be going to our local Whole Foods Market and get this bread and taste how fantastic this bread is inside and out.
You will not be sorry this bread will make you think that you are no longer deprived from real bread .
